Mortuary cooler at Kandy General Hospital out of order

KANDY: The mortuary cooler at the Kandy General Hospital installed at a cost of Rs. 2.4 million has been out of order for the last two months.
The cooler was installed in the mortuary at the headquarters of the Kandy Judicial Medical Officer three months ago.
The Kandy specialist Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) Dr. A. B. Seneviratne has made several requests to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), authorities to attend to the defect but nothing has been done so far.
The cooler has not been in use for the last two months or more.
The cooler is able to accommodate eight dead bodies at a time.
