GL hopeful about 2-month time frame; Norway to mediate
Professor G. L. Peiris, Minister of Justice, Constitutional Affairs and National Integration yesterday expressed optimism that the process of finalizing the long sought constitutional changes can be achieved within the "next couple of months’’ with the necessary Bill presented to Parliament.

Peiris’ remarks followed Thursday’s statement over national radio by Agriculture Minister D. M. Jayaratne, who is also the general secretary of the People’s Alliance, that talks with the LTTE on a new constitution will be held within three months.
