
Two members of the much feared
Katunayake armed gang were seriously wounded as a
rival gang armed with T- 56 assault rifles opened
fire on them around 1.00 a.m. according to police
sources.
The leader of the gang known as Titus, sources
said, had managed a narrow escape amidst fierce
firing.
At the time of the attack that took place near
the 18th mile post on the Colombo-Negombo
highway, the gang leader and his aides had been
travelling in two vans, which were also damaged
in the attack sources said. |
