A Defence Ministry press release said that on Friday around 10.05 a.m. North of Olumadu troops operating forward of defences sniped and killed three terrorists.

In the evening Northwest of Kunchikkulam troops sniped and killed two terrorists.

In another incident around 7 a.m. West to Kanakarayankulam Naval troops on search and clear operation recovered a claymore mine, one electrical firing device, one electrical detonator and 30 metres of wire.

Troops continue to dominate areas ahead of defences.
