Kandy will go gay today, when the Wace Park Speed Hill Climb takes place at 8.00 a.m. today under the patronage of Mayor of Kandy, Harindra Dunuwille. The meet is organised by the Kandy Motor Sports Club (KMSC) in aid of the Kandy Mayor's Fund.

This hill climb is expected to provide the thrislls and spills.

The President of the KMSC Ruwan Ratwatte who has been doing a wonderful job was happy over the entries and said this race would provide a good show.

The Secretary Ananda Krishnaratna said that a good number of 28 cycle events and 60 car events would be worked out.

The cream of riders are Errol Kemps, J. A. Zainul in the Group up to 125 cc, Ajith Perera, Kumar Rajapriya in the Over 125 cc, Mahen Madugalle, Azaad Zaiyafudeen, upto 125 CC, Shanka Ambrose, Pradeep Adihetty over 125 cc and Shane Gunawardena, S. B. Pilapitiya in the Stroke Open event.

The cars events will see Henry Mudalige, M. G. Piyadasa, Ananda Krishnaratna and Rodney Mason, Hafiz Cader, Thejasiri Gunatillake, Malik Zaveer, Cassim Wahab, Lalantha Peiris, Arvinda Premadasa, Jagath Fernando completing.
