The 70-member Japanese Buddhist delegation now in Sri Lanka, yesterday presented 50 scholarships to mark former President J. R. Jayewardene’s second death anniversary. The scholarships will be awarded to 50 poor school children of the Kelaniya area. Ven. Ruygen Tanaka Bhikkuni of the Ruygen Temples handing over the scholarships to Mr. Pradip Jayewardene, grandson of President J. R. Jayewardene at yesterday’s ceremony at the J. R.
