The NFSL at their last committee meeting decided not to allow the junior netball players permission to participate in this event. "It was a collective committee decision," she stressed. Meanwhile an official from the Sri Lanka Ports Authority stressed that this is a well planned conspiracy to deprive them of the title. "We have five National Junior players in our Side, and our first match is against Kandy team. This team is coached by Tissera who is also the Junior national coach, and this team does not have a single national player with them" she said. A leading coach when contacted said that this tournament would have given the players ideal exposure.
