Inscribed Lead Token in shape of Tortoise

This Inscribed Lead token in shape of tortoise found in Akurugoda is similer to Plate Specimen A.42. illustrated in 1999 book by Osmund Bopearachchi and Rajah Wickramasinhe Ruhuna. An Ancient Civilization Re-visited .

Obverse : Tortoise shape with star on body, head and one back leg. Back pointed with no tail.
Reverse : Legend in Brahmi on body of tortoise shape.

The size is about the same as A42 but the Brahami legend appears different to that published for A42. Shape is different and 44% of the weight of A42.

The specimen was scanned at 600 dpi and displayed at 400 dpi.
It was obtained in 2016 May from Lalith Raddella in Colombo who had purchased a selection from Raja Wickramasinghe.
