in Stivers 48 ST at center within a bead circle. Two lines below the T.
This Elephant with the end of it's trunk stretched down is slightly different from the coin in Lingen's collection. 5 forward is similer to the 1804 illustrated in Mitchiner. R. Nott reports single variety among (2) rare 1805 coins the he has from the Lowsley collection. Pridmore Lists 2 varieties 1805 (P#8-9) i.e. with and without dot between CEYLON.GOVERNMENT.
