Obverse : Crowned Head of George VI to left in relief in the center between the legend KING GEORGE + THE SIXTH on left and right, along periphery with raised rim.
Reverse : CEYLON above central numeral 5. සත පහ in Sinhala on left, ௫·சதம் in Thamil on right Below CENTS , and year 1951 within a raised rim.

1951 5-cents is only a proof. Not issued as currency for circulation, but not so scarce since it has been restruck in India for collectors.
This was Lanka's first NCLT (Non Circulating Legal Tender).
The Detailed breakdown from Royal Mint Reports indicates that all of the coins minted for issue till 1962 used the frozen year 1945.
