Except for the Galle Fortress side of Medal, the rest of the sides have
a brilliant golden proof-like region, seen as white in these inverted
photoshoped scans due to perfect reflection.
The images above doesn't do justice to the Gilt proof-like finish of
this set which need to be properly photographed.
The Medals are presented in tight push fit clear plastic capsules.
Set is presented in a hinged polished wood-like finish 10x9.5 cm box
with a press open button in front.
The box weighs 102 grams without the Medals in capsules.
Off-white satin padded inside top cover with Foreverset
Trademark printed in gold.
Off-white velvet inside bottom tray to place the 3 Medal in capsules,
which were attached to the velvet with double sided scotch tape.
The tape easily peeled off and residual gum wiped off with a soft
cloth without use of any liquids or damage to the plastic capsule.
Date of issue, quantity minted and details of the origin and use of
this set of Medals is being researched.
The buying officers at Laksala told me that that the Sets were made
for the Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry to give as Gifts and they put some
excess production for sale in Laksala shops. The Medals were produced
in Sri Lanka and the box by a Lankan Firm with TradeMark Foreverset.
The Medals was scanned at 600 dpi and displayed at 200 dpi.
I thank Subhash Abhayawansa for informing about the availability of
this presentation medal set at Laksala in 2020 January.
Set was purchased in Laksala @ Thunmulla in Colombo in 2020 January for US$81.
