Codrington in X§26 does not list any Rijks Daalder from United
Provinces as having been found in Ceylon. However on page 108 quotes
that the Rijks Daalder (Rix Dollar) of United Provinces was rated on
1652 May 4th at 52 Stivers.
Coins issued between 1652 and 1671 did not have a mint mark. (Dav #4844)
The VF condition coin was scanned at 600 dpi and displayed at
150 dpi.
It was won on ebay in 2002 February from a Netherlands dealer.
I thank Maria
an Ancient Language online expert for properly
translating the Latin legends on reverse of coin.
