hand. and the other with his left.
30. And Samson said, Let me die with the Phillistines. And he
bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords,
and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew
with his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
The First Dictionary of Paranumismatics by Brian Edge of Crewe, England, U.K. 1991. illustrates both sides of this token near to the initial "S" (Samson) token issuers listed in that book.
This token has different obverse but identical reverse to Ruffler & Walker
token found with it.
I also found a smaller token from Samson Novelty Co. of Holborn which maybe older.
The token was scanned at 300dpi and the images are displayed at 200 dpi.
This token was obtained in the 2003 May from a dealer in Galle, Lanka.
Theu were among a pile of circulated old British copper, but that is
probably only because they were all copper coins of similar size. I have found these same tokens in curio shops in Both Colombo and Kandy.
I thank Paul Baker and Parauke @ Coin and Medal Society in Crew, U.K. for
their information.
