A rare hoard of a Rs 2 and Rs 5 Bricks of 1000 notes appeared in the Numismatic market in 2024 April and is shown below. They are shrink wrapped in cellophane with a blue grid of BW&COLD monogram of Bradbury Wilkinson & Co. Ltd. in front of rows of a cyclic wave patterns. Although the date is not clearly visible under the cellophane, it was easily determined from the serial numbers as 1973-8-21. A small rectangle of The cellophane has been cut to show the prefix and Serial No.

Continue the drawing of statue of Sage Pulasthi in Polonnaruwa, Sri lanka, similar in type to notes issued in between 1969 to 1972 except for the addition of ශ්රී to name of country ශ්රී ලංකා twice in legality statement, They were signed by Minister of Finance, N.M.Perera and Governor CBC, Herbert Tennekoon.

I thank the smart dealer who sold them to me at a very attractive price, lot less then 1000 Uncirculated notes of that year would fetch, as he was sure it was safe with me without opening. If it was opened and put on the Numismatic Market the value of Uncirculated notes of this year would crash.
The bundle of notes were scanned at 300 dpi and displayed at 50 dpi.
